Public Speaking

As a speaker I combine my lived experiences of being a disabled woman of colour with a creative and anthropological lens.

  • In November 2021 I joined Twitter to celebrate Twitter Able #DisabledAndAble Tentpole Celebration. During the event, which was attended by over 200 Twitter employees, I shared and showcased my artwork and story.

  • In honour of International Day of People With Disabilities 2020, I joined Instagram’s design team alongside actress Jillian Mercardo and other guest creatives to discuss disability justice, activism and our creative work.

  • In December 2021, Henkel Beauty Care hosted a Panel Discussion on International Day of Persons with Disabilities. I was invited to speak on the panel alongside Disability Inclusion Specialist Jo Becker, Corp Sr HR Business Partner Franz-Albert Bell and Head of Finance Spain & Portugal, Kirsten Sánchez.

  • In celebration of the #OnHappiness season running at the Wellcome Collection, myself and a few other creatives spoke with Gal-Dem in the summer of 2021 to share our take on the things that bring us joy and tranquillity.

  • At Bloomfest 2021, the Bloom in Colour team hosted a panel about redefining feminism and how powerful the role of an intersectional network can be in doing so. I featured on the panel alongside Christopher Kenna and Deborah Campbell.

  • In October 2020, the Tate Modern hosted a Tate Late sponsored by UNIQLO with a focus on Kara Walker’s seminal work. As part of the event, several London-based creatives, including myself, were asked to speak on the theme of ‘memory’. I chose to speak about memory in relation to brain injury and domestic violence.

  • I was invited to be a judge for the 2021 D&AD New Blood Awards for the illustration and animation category sponsored by giffgaff.
