Ananya is a 27-year-old freelance illustrator and chronic illness advocate who uses her work to express herself post-brain injury and as someone living with MS. Vivid, vibrant and explorative, Ananya’s illustrations explore the lived experiences of women in relation to chronic illness, racism and sexism, using colours inspired by nature to create wild, tropical backdrops to bring her work to life. She describes herself as a feminist illustrator and an advocate for people with invisible illnesses.
She is currently exploring the world of children’s books and strives to create illustrations with marginalised children in mind, inspired to fill the gap in the literature available that tells of their diverse experiences growing up. She is a mentee on the Pathways Into Children's Publishing course and strives to create stories and illustrations with marginalised children in mind, inspired to fill the gap in the literature available that tells of their diverse experiences living in the UK.
Ananya is always looking for the next opportunity to translate political issues that matter to her into her work.
Ananya would love to work with you in the future, so please be in touch!
